Canada's top baby names have been revealed, and the new list is full of shakeups.

A new list of the country's top names for baby girls and boys for 2023 has dropped, and the top 10 saw some significant changes, including switch-ups in the top three and names that fell out of the top 10 list altogether.

The list also saw some newcomers rise in the rankings, while other names continued to hold their popularity.

The ranking of the 100 most popular baby names in Canada, which was shared by BabyCenter, is an annual list based on what thousands of parents are naming their babies and is updated every day, according to the company.

For 2023, the list saw some new names manage to crack the top 10. In the boys' names category, there were three newcomers in the 10 most popular baby names, with William rising from number 20 to fifth, Benjamin leaping from 11th to seventh, and Levi rising three spots to number nine.

Other names stuck around in the top 10 but may have changed in their ranking — Oliver rose one spot to third, while Lucas jumped two spots to fourth. The name Leo fell from third to sixth in 2023, while Jack fell from fifth to eighth and Henry fell from eighth to the 10th spot.

Boys' names that tumbled out of the top 10 in 2023 were Thomas, James, and Luca, which now rank in the 38th, 15th, and 24th spots, respectively.

The most popular boys' name in 2023 was Noah, which held its first-place ranking from the previous year's list.

The top 10 list of girls' names also saw some newcomers in 2023, with Ellie and Mila rising to the fourth and eighth spot on the list, respectively, and knocking out Mia and Chloe, which fell from ninth and 10th to 15th and 19th, respectively.

Other name shifts include Charlotte and Sophia, which both rose by one spot to fifth and sixth place, and Lily, which fell from fourth place to seventh.

The name Ava took a tumble in 2023 from fifth to ninth on the list, while Isabella just managed to make the top 10, falling from eighth to 10th place.

The most popular girls' name for 2023 was Olivia, which was also the most popular name in 2022. Amelia and Emma also kept their spots of second and third, respectively, for 2023.
