More Than 93% Of All COVID-19 Deaths In Canada Were Reported In Just 2 Provinces

The pandemic has hit two regions particularly hard. Statistics provided by the government show that over 93% of Canada’s COVID-19 deaths occurred in just two provinces.

On October 4, the Government of Canada confirmed that the country’s case total had surpassed 165,000.

On the same day, it was reported that over 93% of the people who have died in Canada from COVID-19 were located in either Ontario or Quebec.

93.4% Of Canada's COVID-19 deaths were reported in Quebec and Ontario

In the same report, it was revealed that 79.8% of Canada’s cases had been reported by the same two provinces.

This comes as the COVID-19 situation in both Ontario and Quebec continues to evolve at a rapid pace.

On Friday, Ontario’s daily case count reached an all-time high, with 732 people having tested positive.

On Monday, a similar spike was spotted in Quebec, as the province reported a record-breaking 1,191 new cases in 24 hours.

As of Sunday evening, Canada’s total case count was 166,156. Of these cases, 16,432 are considered to be active.
