A Canadian seafood company is recalling multiple products after citing there may be the presence of very dangerous and possibly fatal bacteria.

Clover Leaf Seafoods is behind the recall and says their products could "permit the growth of Clostridium botulinum," according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).

The products in question are the "Clover Leaf brand Sardines Boneless Fillets, Garlic & Chive in Oil and Sardines Boneless Fillets, Smoked Jalapeño in Oil.

The CFIA says that consumers should avoid these products for now and not consume them.

The seafood products were sold in Nova Scotia, QuebecOntario, Newfoundland and LabradorNew Brunswick and Alberta.

They could have also been distributed in other provinces and territories.

The CFIA says that food that is contaminated with Clostridium botulinum toxin could go noticed as it may not look or smell spoiled but can still bring about illness.

Some symptoms could be loss of facial expression, unreactive or fixed pupils, difficulty swallowing, drooping eyelids, blurred or double vision, a hard time speaking or slurred speech and a change in the sound of your voice, according to the agency.

They also say that in the worst cases it could be fatal. Still, there have been no reports of sickness due to consumption as of now.
