If you've been waiting to go see that new flick, then hold out for January 19 because Cineplex is going to be giving out free popcorn to celebrate the special day.

National Popcorn Day is this month and Cineplex Canada is giving away the go-to box office treat, so all the movie-goers out there can save a few bucks on their outing — or from the comfort of their own home.

Why you should care: To celebrate National Popcorn Day, the company will be giving out free bags of popcorn and you don't even have to go to Cineplex to take advantage of the deal.

What they’re saying: "We are excited to share the news that popcorn is taking centre stage across all Cineplex theatres and for the in-home movie experience this January 19 for National Popcorn Day!" Cineplex Canada shared in a press release.

"Cineplex will be celebrating the day by giving away a FREE bag of its famous, buttery popcorn to movie-lovers," they added.

ICYMI: If you buy a movie ticket from the theatre on January 19, you can grab a bag of popcorn for free. But the deal in theatres only applies to Scene+ Members so make sure to download the app and register to be a member to snatch that bag.

And if you plan on watching a movie at home, then open your favourite food delivery app like Uber Eats or SkipTheDishes and enjoy a free bag of popcorn delivered to your doorstep.
