You can get a gift card at Costco right now without spending any money.

Here's what you need to know about how to get this deal for free and save up to $50.

If you shop at Costco Canada, there's a way you can save money without having to spend money.

The wholesale retailer is offering a "Refer a Friend" deal available at warehouses across the country right now.

You need to bring someone to a Costco Membership Counter at any store location in Canada.

Then, when that person signs up for a new Costco membership, show the Refer a Friend site to the Membership Clerk.

You will each get a gift card that you can use to get money off a Costco purchase.

If the person you refer signs up for an Executive membership, you both get a $50 online voucher that can be used when you spend at least $150 online with Costco.

If the person you refer signs up for a Gold Star membership, you both get a $25 online voucher that can be used when you spend at least $100 online.

This offer is only available until Sunday, April 13, 2025.

Also, you must be a Costco member and the person you refer must be a new member or have a membership that's been expired for at least 18 months.

The online voucher is valid until Sunday, May 11, 2025.

You can use it on a single online purchase that's $150 or $100 — depending on which gift card you have — before taxes, applicable fees and shipping.

If you want a Costco membership and a gift card, you can ask someone you know who already has a membership to "refer" you so you can get this deal.

But the gift card won't be free for you because you'll have to pay for a membership.

Costco's Gold Star membership costs $65 a year plus taxes and an Executive membership costs $130 a year plus taxes.
