A new Costco location is opening soon in the GTA, but it's not like a regular warehouse.

So, here's what you need to know about the store, including when it's opening and what you can shop for.

If you live or work in the western parts of the GTA, this new Costco warehouse could be a more convenient shopping option.

That's because it will be located in northwest Mississauga near Brampton, Halton Hills and Milton.

The new store isn't a regular warehouse; it's a Costco Business Centre.

Costco Canada shared that the new Business Centre at 3115 Argentia Road, which is near Winston Churchill Boulevard and Highway 401, will open in October.

There are three regular Costco warehouses in the city, but this will be the first Costco Business Centre in Mississauga.

Also, it will be just the fourth Business Centre location in Ontario. The others are in Scarborough, St. Catharines and Glouchester.

Costco Business Centres are designed for businesses, so you can find thousands of products that aren't available at regular warehouse locations.

Plus, many products are even bigger than the already bulk-sized products you can get at regular Costco stores.

The commercial quantities are big enough to last you six months or even a year!

Here are some of the food products you can get at Costco Business Centres:

  • pre-baked goods like English muffins, brioche burger buns, tortillas, hot dog buns, sliced bread and bagels
  • dairy items like milk, butter, margarine, whipping cream, eggs, yogurt, fresh mozzarella, and cheeses
  • fresh meat and fish
  • fresh produce
  • pantry items like cereal, coffee, tea, baking supplies, condiments, spices, and seasonings
  • snacks like chocolate, candy, chips, crackers, popcorn, and granola bars
  • frozen items like fruits and vegetables, meat and fish, bread, ice cream, and desserts
  • drinks like juice, pop, and water

Business Centre locations have paper towels, napkins, tissues, toilet paper, and other paper products as well.

Also, you can get flatware, glassware and tabletop accessories like dinner forks, soup spoons, steak knives, wine glasses, champagne flutes, and more.

These stores have appliances and food prep equipment like air fryers, stand mixers, mini refrigerators, tabletop griddles, blenders and food processors.

You can get electronics and office supplies as well.

Business Centres open earlier and have "more convenient shopping hours" so you can shop during the workday.

Costco's regular warehouse locations are usually open from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., but Business Centres are typically open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

You can shop in person at Business Centre warehouses with your Gold Star or Executive membership. A special business membership isn't required.

If you don't have a Costco membership, it costs $65 a year for a Gold Star membership and $130 a year for an Executive membership.

Costco is also hiring at the new Business Centre location in Mississauga, and you can apply for a bunch of positions.

That includes Cashier Assistant, Delivery Driver, Forklift/Power Equipment Operator, Maintenance Assistant, Member Service Assistant, Order Picker, and Stocker.

Also, you can apply for "any position" if you don't know which job you want to work at the new Costco warehouse.
