The Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) is hiring in cities across the country.

Canada's intelligence and security agency is staffing Tactical Internet Collection Officer positions in Burnaby, Regina, Winnipeg, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Fredericton and Halifax.

The salary for these CSIS jobs is between $99,392 and $120,917 a year.

As a Tactical Internet Collection Officer, you're responsible for collecting, analyzing and reporting details of threat-related activities using online open source intelligence tradecraft.

The duties of the position include:

  • assessing and interpreting online information through investigative means to gather intelligence
  • monitoring the activities of specific subjects of investigation, identifying investigative leads, and supporting the identification and development of new targets and sources
  • knowing active investigations, relevant local threat environments, online trends, existing and emerging social media platforms and internet usage patterns of persons of interest
  • consulting with operational units to gather and analyze intelligence, provide advice and explain results, and write reports
  • maintaining the safety and integrity of tactical online collection and identifying capability gaps

This job is only open to Canadian citizens.

You need a high school diploma and eight years of experience, a college diploma and six years of experience, or an undergraduate degree and four years of experience.

That experience must be in conducting research, analysis, and report writing using online sources.

Also, you need knowledge of social media platforms and smartphones.

It's an asset if you know a foreign language and can effectively navigate the internet.

You must be eligible to receive an Enhanced Top Secret security clearance.

The process includes a security interview, a polygraph, and a background investigation with credit and financial verifications.
