This is the first of its kind in Canada.

Soon you'll be able to get a Tim Hortons reusable cup or food container when you order in select locations that you actually return when you're done.

The coffee and baked goods chain is partnering with TerraCycle's Loop platform to test out a program that lets you use a cup or food container that's reusable and returnable.

This is meant to help reduce single-use waste from its locations.

A first of its kind in Canada that focuses on reusables.

You'll have the option of putting down a deposit and getting one of these cups or food containers for whatever you ordered.

Then when you're done, you can return the reusables that you got at a participating Tims location and get your deposit money back.

Cups and food containers will be professionally cleaned and sanitized by Loop so that they're safe to reuse over and over again.

This is being called the first of its kind in Canada and the pilot program is expected to start at select Toronto locations in 2021.

Tims and other coffee chains like Starbucks usually let people bring their own reusable cups to get their drinks in but that was suspended in March because of COVID-19.
