Treehouses are great for tons of things. You can play in them, spend the night in them, and even watch TV in them. Now, The Laurel Tree in Utopia, Texas is giving us something else to check off our treehouse bucket list by hosting lunch and dinner in a restaurant inside a treehouse.
The house sits on top of a 450-year-old tree with amazing views. You have several menus to choose from which consist of things like butternut squash, salmon, pork, and pasta. The meals tend to be five courses for a fixed price starting at $30. All of the ingredients are fresh from their farm that is just outside on their property. Their menus do tend to change from week to week which keeps things fresh and makes a great excuse to go back to dine there again.
They do offer regular and alcoholic beverages but you are welcome to bring your own bottle. You do need a reservation to dine at the treehouse because they have limited seating and tend to fill up. They allow you to book up to six months in advance and you can even dine on their treehouse balcony.
While you wait to be seated, you can take a stroll through their scenic gardens. In the gardens, you'll find amazingly beautiful flowers along with the veggies they use in their meals. If the treehouse wasn't Instagram worthy enough, then the garden most definitely is.
The treehouse restaurant is open only on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and then again from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.
The Laurel Tree is located at 18956 Hwy. 187, Utopia, Texas. For more information including a look at the menu and to make a reservation, you can check out their website here.
