Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid revealed new details about his upcoming wedding and it sounds like it'll be the party of the summer.

The NHLer is getting married to his fiancée Lauren Kyle in Muskoka in July and their big day will come with a lot of surprises, including with the guest list.

In an interview with GQ Sports published on February 7, the Canadian hockey star talked about how wedding planning is going.

McDavid says so far he hasn't had a big role and most of the planning has been up to Kyle.

"I've got to make sure that I've got my guys dressed, looking good and heading down the aisle on time. That's been my role so far. Maybe Lauren will ask for some help as we get a little closer. But so far, it's been easy," he told GQ Sports.

The NHL star said he'll be getting his groomsmen black suits from a Montreal company called Cloakroom.

"It's going to be a summer wedding, so I was worried about the fellas being too hot. I was suggesting something a little bit lighter and not black suits. But ultimately, Lauren wanted something a little bit more traditional and that's the way we're going to go," McDavid said.

As for the groom himself, he'll be rocking a classic "tuxedo-like" fit.

During the interview, McDavid also revealed he's a "huge" Nickelback fan and even hinted that the band may show up at the wedding.

"We're in the middle of some wedding planning right now. Entertainment is still something we've got to figure out," he explained in the interview.

"Actually, I guess we don't have to figure it out; we've got a couple surprises. But I'm not sure Nickelback is going to be there. We'll have to see."

McDavid proposed to Kyle in June 2023 during a trip to Muskoka after eight years of dating.

In an interview with Narcity back in October 2023, Kyle also shared some details about the big day.

"We're gonna do it in an undisclosed location in Muskoka," Kyle said.

"We're incorporating our cottage for one of the events too, which will be nice because we get to showcase the new space that we built. We'll do a welcome party there and then we're doing the actual wedding in Muskoka."

At the time Kyle said she hadn't found her wedding dress yet, but she knew what she wanted.

"I got an idea of what I want for the cut, style and everything. I just think I might get it custom-made because I can't find exactly what I want," she explained.

With just over five months to go until the wedding on July 27, it'll be fun to see what other details McDavid and Kyle share before then!
