28 Popular National Parks & Other Canadian Spots Just Got A Big Gift From Tesla

Talk about going green. were gifted by Telsa at some of the most popular national parks, historic sites and other spots. They're now up and running for visitors to use.

If you have an electric car, it just got easier to go have an adventure in the Canadian wilderness while still keeping your vehicle charged up.

Parks Canada announced that charging stations are now available for use at 28 of the most popular national parks, historic sites, marine conservation areas and an urban park.

The locations will have over 350 stations between them thanks to a donation from Tesla back in 2019.

With the gift, Parks Canada said it can better serve visitors who've gone electric and make its operations greener.

The new charging stations are up and running in every province except for P.E.I.

So far, 172 of them have been installed so far. 

In each location, half of them have Tesla plugs and half have J-1772 plugs.

There's no extra cost associated with the stations. They're free of charge when you pay entry fees where applicable.

These are the national parks where the Telsa gifts are available:

• Kejimkujik National Park (Nova Scotia)
• Cape Breton Highlands National Park (Nova Scotia)
• Kouchibouguac National Park (New Brunswick)
• Fundy National Park (New Brunswick)
• Georgian Bay Islands National Park (Ontario)
• Pukaskwa National Park (Ontario)
• Point Pelee National Park (Ontario)
• Prince Albert National Park (Saskatchewan)
• Banff National Park (Alberta)
• Jasper National Park (Alberta)
• Waterton Lakes National Park (Alberta)
• Riding Mountain National Park (Manitoba)
• La Mauricie National Park (Quebec)

For historic sites, electric vehicles can charge with the new stations at:

• Grand-Pré National Historic Site (Nova Scotia)
• Rideau Canal National Historic Site (Ontario)
• Fort George National Historic Site (Ontario)
• Sault Ste Marie Canal National Historic Site (Ontario)
• Bellevue House National Historic Site (Ontario)
• HMCS Haida National Historic Site (Ontario)
• Trent-Severn Waterway National Historic Site (Ontario)
• Batoche National Historic Site (Saskatchewan)
• Motherwell Homestead National Historic Site (Saskatchewan)
• Fort Rodd Hill National Historic Site (British Columbia)
• Signal Hill (Newfoundland and Labrador)
• Lower Fort Garry National Historic Site (Manitoba)

Then there are also stations at Rouge National Urban Park in Ontario and Saguenay-St-Laurent Marine Park in Quebec.

Canada had a goal of putting charging stations in or near 25 of the most popular Parks Canada spots across the country by 2021.

That has just been met.

There's an even bigger target of introducing the stations to the 50 most popular places by 2025. 

The organization said the donation from Telsa is also helping meet that target.

Charging stations aren't the only thing you'll find out and about at Parks Canada spots. 

At Gros Morne National Park in Newfoundland, a bunch of sheep live along a seaside trail and you can spot them while you're hiking.
