I Tried Popeyes' Iconic Chicken Sandwich To See If It Lives Up To The Hype
A sneak peek before it hits Canada!
It's almost here! Popeyes Canada chicken sandwich is going to be available across the country soon and I got an exclusive taste of the famous sandwich. Now we know if it actually lives up to all the hype.
As someone who's never had any kind ofbefore, when I got the delivery from Popeyes I was unsure if I would even like it despite it's gotten south of the border.
After the first bite that all changed though. My taste buds were instantly in love.
There are actually two varieties of this new menu item to choose from.
Both kinds have a white meat fillet that's marinated in a blend of Louisiana seasonings then hand-battered and breaded in a buttermilk coating with barrel-cured pickles on a toasted buttery brioche bun but the difference is in the mayo.
You can get the classic version that has regular tangy mayo or the spicy version.
Since I tried each of them, I'm here to give you all the details!
For both sandwiches, the first bite has a fantastic crunch.
The chicken is crispy on the outside but tender and juicy on the inside which is such a good combo.
Plus, the fillet is huge so you really get the most bang for your buck.
With the classic sandwich, the pickles and mayo add a nice tang that's balanced nicely by the subtle sweetness of the brioche bun.
For the spicy version, be cautious!
I'm someone who doesn't particularly do well with spice and it made my mouth burn from the first bite.
So, if you can't handle that it's probably best to stick to the classic sandwich.
However, it's still delicious.
After trying both of these sandwiches, I was full in the best way.
These aren't small portions so both varieties will not leave you hungry, but the tastiness might just leave you wanting more.
The chicken sandwich is finallyat Popeyes' 230 locations across the country.
When it's made available, it will be a regular menu item that you can get every single day.
