90% Of Canada Is Uninhabited

Apparently, a lot of Canada's wilderness is very unpopulated and possibly not even habitable for humans.

To really get the picture, Canada is slightly larger than the U.S. but somehow has only 11% of our southern counterpart's population.

What's more, our home and native land is mostly unfit for human habitation, according to Vox.

According to the report, despite Canada being so geographically large, most of its 38 million residents are found in smaller concentrated areas.

The report says William Lewis Morton, a Canadian historian, believed this was because the milder weather of southern Canada is more suitable for agriculture.

"Intensive commercial agriculture gave rise to a dense network of villages, towns, and cities," the report quoted Morton saying.

Additionally, Canada is home to the world's largest uninhabited island located in Nunavut’s Baffin Bay, per Big 7 Travel.
