Canada Just Reported One Of Its Deadliest Days Ever During COVID-19
The case count continues to climb, too.
New data shared by the government has revealed thatsurged on Wednesday, as the country reported its highest single-day increase in related deaths since the beginning of June.
Shared on December 2, the data shows that 114 new deaths were confirmed in Canada, though only 80 of them occurred in the previous 24 hours.
This takes the country’s total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 12,325.
This makes Wednesday the deadliest day in six months, according to Global News, who reports the last time cases surpassed 110 was on June 4.

On the same day, officials also confirmed that 6,307 new positive tests had been recorded, taking the total number of active cases to 67,564.
Canada’s total case count has now reached 389,775.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has acknowledged the climbing statistics on multiple occasions recently, evenon Monday showing how the situation has developed in Canada since March.
He urged Canadians to download the government’sand asked everyone to continue to follow public health advice ahead of the holidays.
It’s a message that was backed up by Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Theresa Tam on Wednesday, as she acknowledged thatbut begged them to stay at home whenever possible.
