A new poll has found that Canadian women are carrying their loved ones through the pandemic and taking on many responsibilities in the process.

CIBC conducted a survey that discovered that many jobs fall on women in comparison to men, including childcare,  supervision for children's schoolwork, finances and budgeting.

With children being home more than ever as a result of school restrictions, the survey found that 65% of women were supervising school work for children, compared to only 38% of men.

Additionally, the survey found that childcare responsibilities mainly fell on women (60%) rather than men (28%).

The report explained how this was also seen within finances, highlighting that 61% of women polled said they also pay household bills.

What's more, 59% said they are also in charge of budgeting for the home.

"With household duties rising during the pandemic environment, Canadian women are proving to be the warriors that are carrying their families through these difficult times," Carissa Lucreziano, Vice-President, CIBC Financial and Investment Advice said.

"It's important to acknowledge the workload women are carrying today."
