DECIEM The Abnormal Beauty Company has been declared as the site of a workplace COVID-19 outbreak, according to the City of Toronto.

DECIEM's outbreak poses a "significant public health risk," according to the City's database.

The skincare company is listed — alongside Sofina Foods Inc. and TTM Techonologies Inc. — as one of the three workplaces that are currently dealing with significant outbreaks in Toronto.

The list will be updated every Thursday, according to the city.

DECIEM has provided no public statement on the outbreak but addresses customer safety in a statement on their website.

"For several weeks, we have been actively protecting symptomatic employees and the workplace by sending them home (with pay) to recover," states the company.

"We have also further enhanced cleaning procedures at our manufacturing and distribution facilities. We are continuously working to provide a safe and hygienic environment for our employees and our products," reads the statement.

Narcity has reached out to DECIEM for more information and will update the story when we receive a response.

"By drawing attention to unsafe settings, we can hold employers and also governments accountable," said Councillor Joe Cressy on Monday.

Enhanced measures for workplaces came into effect in Toronto on Monday, including additional social distancing and rigorous cleaning of high-touch surfaces.
