Narcity also reached out to Toronto Catholic District School Board for further comment.

"We’ve recently learned of the tragic death of a staff member of Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB). This unfortunate news is a huge loss to our entire TCDSB community," Shazia Vlahos, chief of communications, said.

"Supports are available to the impacted school community," she added.

The worker reportedly passed on the morning of November 18, 2020, after contracting the disease earlier this week, according to CP24.

Her identity has yet to be released to the public.
