Hinge Responds To The The Violent Attack On An Atlanta Woman During A Date
The dating app is responding after a date turned into a nightmare last week.
An Atlanta woman, Instagram., was brutally attacked by her Hinge date last Wednesday night and has opened up about her assault on
The alleged aggressor, identified as Benjamin Fancher, is wanted by the Atlanta Police Department for aggravated assault, kidnapping, and false imprisonment.
"The violence she describes is horrible and is something no one should ever have to experience," Hinge said in a statement to Narcity.
We are outraged by what happened to Brittany.
According to Correri, the date was going normally until they left their last date location and got in Fancher's car.
Correri claimed Fancher held her against her will for hours as he beat her continuously and ultimately pulled a gun on her.
Amazingly, a nearby security guard intervened and the attacker took off in his white BMW.
Hinge immediately removed and banned Fancher from the dating app and shared with Narcity, "We stand ready to work with law enforcement to help ensure that justice is served."
The company further stated that they take any incident of assault very seriously and that the team reached out to the victim immediately to "outline advocacy and support resources."
As of Tuesday morning, Fancher is still wanted by police.
