All aboard! If your Hogwarts letter hasn't arrived yet, this enchanting fall train ride near Toronto is the next best thing—complete with magical autumn vibes.

The spell-binding experience winds through a red and gold valley that will have you feeling like you're on your way to Hogwarts.

The restored 1920s coaches have major Harry Potter vibes, and the journey is even more beautiful during the fall, when the landscapes are painted with vibrant colours.

South Simcoe Railway, situated about an hour away from Toronto, is hosting its annual Fall Colour Excursions on select dates from September 27 to October 19, 2025.

According to the website, autumn is the most popular time of year to ride the train, and with the tapestry of fall colours you can enjoy from the window, it's no surprise.

The train travels along a century-old branch line through the Beeton Creek Valley, where rolling hills of red and gold await.

You'll be seated in a vintage locomotive that will have you craving Chocolate Frogs and Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans.

The round trip from Tottenham to Beeton takes just under an hour and is complete with a conductor's commentary along the way. Once the train pulls back into the station, you can wander over to the nearby shops and restaurants just a block away—the perfect way to wrap up the adventure.

There are five departures each day between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Advance reservations are available now, and, according to the website, the fall excursions sell out quickly.

Put on your cloak and climb aboard this fall colour train ride that's the next best thing to the Hogwarts Express.
