This cozy riverside town in Ontario has tiny cafes and magical autumn vibes

It's like a little trip to Stars Hollow.

A river in an Ontario town. Right: Fall in an Ontario town.

Crisp autumn days are just around the bend, and soon Ontario will transform with vibrant shades of red and orange.

There's so much to enjoy during this cozy season, and if you're looking for some inspiration, this charming small town is worth checking out.

Boasting quaint local shops, an enchanting river, cozy cafes and more, this town feels like it was made for autumn.

You can spend your days exploring the historic streets, wandering through red and gold foliage and sipping steaming drinks from cute eateries.

Here's what to know about this dreamy riverside town.

Almonte is a former mill town located along the shores of the Mississippi River. The historic village is known as "The Friendly Town" and has also been dubbed the "Christmas Capital of Ontario" due to the many holiday movies that have been filmed there.

While Christmas is a beautiful time of year to visit Almonte, the fall season offers its own kind of magic.

The coziness of the town goes hand-in-hand with sweater weather. There are many cute cafes where you can sip warm drinks, such as North Market Almonte, Ottawa Valley Coffee and Equator Coffee Roasters.

You won't want to miss out on the scenic Riverwalk. The stroll takes you along the Mississippi River and around landmarks like Thoburn Mill and the Victoria Woollen Mill.

You'll also want to check out the beautiful foliage at the Mill of Kintail Conservation Area, where you can wander along forested trails and enjoy the colours of the season.

Other highlights include the local boutiques and drool-worthy restaurants scattered throughout the downtown.

Enjoy fall to the fullest in this cozy small town!
