The 53rd Annual got underway on Sunday with some of Canada's biggest musicians walking the red carpet in Halifax.

From host Nelly Furtado to Canadian rappers Kardinal Offishall and Maestro Fresh Wes, there was a lot of Canadian talent at the Halifax Convention Centre.

Here are the Canadian celebrities who showed up for Canada's biggest night in music.

Nelly Furtado

"I'm Like a Bird" singer Nelly Furtado arrived on the red carpet in a stunning sparkling gown.

Furtado is hosting the awards ceremony and will also be opening the ceremony with a performance.
