International Students Can't Wait To Get Back To Canada & Here's Why

Canada ranked above every country for supporting and welcoming international students!

Senior Writer

It turns out international students who study in Canada are quite eager to get back here. Our country is one of the most sought-after destinations for students looking to complete their post-secondary education abroad.

A recent survey by IDP Connect spoke to over 6,000 people from around the world who are currently studying or planning to study in Canada, the U.S., the U.K., Australia or New Zealand. Our country received the highest rating based on perception because of policies for international students and work visas post-graduation.

Students who were surveyed said they have Canada as their number one choice because of the high quality of education offered, employment opportunities after graduation, support for international students and a welcoming atmosphere for people from other countries. Canada ranked above every other country for those last two reasons.

In general, 55% of students surveyed revealed that they'll get a COVID-19 vaccine as soon as possible, 9% have already been vaccinated and 30% are hesitant about getting doses. The remaining 6% said they're willing to wait to study abroad until vaccine passports aren't required.

Currently, Canada's travel rules allow international students who've been fully vaccinated with a vaccine that's approved for use here to skip quarantine upon arrival. However, there are other requirements for people entering the country for school including a valid study permit.
