When the first Johnson & Johnson vaccine doses are expected to arrive in Canada has been revealed and it's happening soon.

During an update on the country's vaccine rollout, Major-General Dany Fortin, the head of Canada's vaccine distribution, said that the first shipment will be arriving in the country during the week of April 26.

The first delivery will be approximately 300,000 doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, which is a single-dose vaccine.

During the following week, those doses will be distributed to provinces and territories and will arrive at the beginning of May.

In the U.S., the use of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine was paused after a recommendation from the CDC and FDA due to a possible link between the vaccine and rare cases of blood clots.
