A superbowl star, a doctor, and now a hero. Laurent Duvernay-Tardif's Hall of Fame recognition was commented on by Jagmeet Singh and he called the Canadian "a hero."

The Pro Football Hall of Fame recently announced that Duvernay-Tardif's medical scrubs and lab coat are on display to showcase him stepping away from the NFL fight COVID-19.

Singh took to Twitter to praise the football player and doctor.

Like all frontline workers, he's a hero. Jagmeet Singh

Singh highlighted that Duvernay-Tardif opted out of the 2020 NFL season.

He instead worked at a long term care facility in Quebec to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Canadians are known for our generous spirit around the world," the NDP leader said in his tweet.

Singh also mentioned that Duvernay-Tardif is an example of why that is and called him "a hero" like all frontline workers.

Duvernay-Tardif, who has a doctorate in medicine, won the Super Bowl with the Kansas City Chiefs as a starting offensive lineman back in February.

He said that he's honoured to be recognized by the Pro Football Hall of Fame and accepted it on his behalf but also for all frontline workers.
