A member of Ontario's COVID-19 task force has stepped down after it was discovered that she travelled outside of the country last month. 

Linda Hasenfratz, who is also the CEO of Linamar, a manufacturing company, was appointed to supervise the province's COVID-19 immunization program back in December.

Premier Ford accepted the resignation of Linda Hasenfratz as a member of Ontario’s COVID-19 Vaccination Distribution Task Force.  Premier Doug Ford 

However, on Tuesday night, Premier Doug Ford announced that Hasenfratz had been ousted from her role.

The statement announced he had accepted her resignation after he was made aware of her December travel. 

"She has apologized for the decision to do so," the announcement adds.

However, the statement does not say why Hasenfratz travelled outside of Canada or where she went.

Ford asked Ontarians not to travel outside of the province back in November to help curb rising COVID-19 cases.

This is a plea that some of his own staff have since ignored. 

Finance Minister Rod Phillips resigned last month after facing backlash for vacationing in the Caribbean.
