This is a result of the Cargill facility in London, Ontario, pausing production due to COVID-19.

McDonald's Canada said it aims to get back to McNuggets that are fully supplied by Canadian sources as soon as production can safely resume at the facility and it can catch up with the demand.

Something similar happened with another menu item in April 2020, when McDonald's Canada started getting beef from other countries, including the U.S., amid the closure of a Canadian facility due to COVID-19.
