The November full moon that's happening on the last day of the month has a pretty Canadian name.

When you look up at the night sky on the last day of November, say hello to the full beaver moon!

It will reach peak fullness in the early morning hours that day but you'll still be able to see it in all of its glory that night.

November 30 the moon becomes full

If you thought Earth's natural satellite would have some sort of resemblance to a beaver, that's not actually the case.

Full moons traditionally have names that were used by Indigenous people and others from the past because they correspond with nature and the seasons.

November's one is named after the beaver because this is the time of year when the animals take shelter for the winter according to The Old Farmer's Almanac

On the same day that the moon becomes full, there will also be a penumbral lunar eclipse.

That's when the moon moves through the outer part of Earth's shadow and you'll be able to see it from Canada.
