It feels like a seaside escape.

You don't need to fly to the tropics to enjoy soft sand and warm waters. This Ontario beach destination has tropical vibes and summer charm, making it an idyllic spot for a getaway.

You can spend your days relaxing on the silky shores, enjoying the cute shops and cooling off with a drink on a patio.

Port Dover is a cute resort town in Ontario that feels like a seaside gem.

According to Destination Canada, it's one of the best beaches in the province, featuring smooth shores, sparkling waters and more.

It's perched on Lake Erie, "the province's most southern and shallowest lake, so the water is the warmest," Destination Canada notes.

One of the most unique features of the beach is its palm trees. Brought in each year by the Beach House restaurant, these tropical trees add some major Florida vibes to the scene.

The restaurant offers coastal cuisine and a patio overlooking the palm trees and sandy beach below.

You can take a romantic stroll along the Port Dover Pier, which offers sparkling views of the lake and features a charming lighthouse.

In addition to the beach, Port Dover is home to attractions, including a theatre, Harbour Museum, mini golf and an art gallery.

According to Ontario's Southwest, only a small portion of the beach is currently open to the public, so it may get busy. If you're looking for a quieter swimming experience, you can head to nearby beaches such as Turkey Point and Long Point.

With tropical vibes and warm waters, this Ontario destination feels like a seaside escape.
