This magical Ontario ice trail is an enchanting way to spend your winter days. Hidden in a forest, the glistening path winds its way through snow-covered evergreens and will have you feeling like you've glided into a fairytale.

The trail is so beautiful it was named one of the world's 18 "stunning" outdoor ice rinks by Travel and Leisure in 2023.

It's about a three hour drive from Toronto, meaning you could make a day trip or weekend adventure out of your visit.

Arrowhead Provincial Park's skating trail is a 1.3 kilometre pathway that leads you through a snowy forest. According to Discover Muskoka, it's among "Ontario’s most popular winter attractions."

The icy trail looks like something from Narnia and come nighttime, it gets even more magical.

On Friday and Saturday evenings, the Park hosts Fire and Ice Nights where the trail is lit with glowing torches.

You'll want to book a daily vehicle permit in order to reserve your spot, as the events typically sell out.

Of course, the Fire and Ice Nights as well as the skating trail are dependent on weather, so it's a good idea to check the status of the ice before heading out.

You can get the latest updates on Arrowhead Provincial Park's Twitter account or the Ontario Parks Snow Report.

Whether you're dreaming of a romantic winter date or fun snowy-weather outing with friends, this fairytale skating experience makes for a magical experience.
