You'll forget you're in Ontario while visiting this breathtaking destination. With secret sandy beaches, towering cliffs, granite shores and a majestic waterfall, it's a magical spot for an adventure.

Pukaskwa National Park is a stunning hidden gem nestled along the northern shores of Lake Superior, a few hours from Thunder Bay.

The area features beautiful hikes that lead you through boreal forests and along sloping coastlines.

One popular hike is the Coastal Trail, a 60-kilometre "adventurer's dream," according to the website.

The challenging trail takes you through sandy and cobblestone beaches and rugged forests.

You'll also want to visit the White River Suspension Bridge — a swaying bridge that hangs 23 metres above the rushing Chigamiwinigum Falls.

Another highlight of Pukaskwa National Park is the beaches. According to the website, "Lake Superior laps against golden sand secluded by boreal forest and flanked with rolling granite."

Horseshoe Beach is a hidden gem with rolling dunes located along a boardwalk trail from Hattie Cove Campground.

According to Lake Superior Circle Tour, the secluded beach boasts "golden sand and glistening emerald waters" that look like they belong in Costa Rica.

You can also visit Middle and North Beach, where you'll find more sandy shores and clear blue waters.

The park is open from May 15 to October 15, 2025, and offers incredible wilderness adventures and stunning views.
