This stunning Ontario beach with rolling white dunes is like a mini Caribbean island

It's never too soon to start planning a beach day.

Lead Writer, Travel

It's never too soon to start dreaming about beach days. Ontario has so many beautiful stretches of shoreline, and this spot will have you feeling like you've taken a trip to the tropics.

With rolling white sand dunes, sparkling waves and silky shores, it's a magical spot for a warm-weather day trip.

Dunes Beach, located in Sandbanks Provincial Park, is a little slice of summer paradise.

It was even recognized by Forbes as one of "4 Stunning Beaches in Ontario That Feel Like the Caribbean," making it an idyllic place for a tropical escape without a flight.

Dunes Beach is one of Sandbank's three natural sand beaches and can be found in the Dunes day-use area off West Lake. It features a steep drop-off, so you'll want to take care when getting into the water.

The park is home to the world's largest baymouth barrier dune formation, and the rolling white sand landscape looks like something off a tropical postcard.

You can take a dip in the turquoise waters or wander along the park's trails through the dune and wetland habitats.

According to Ontario Parks, Sandbanks Provincial Park "is one of the busiest parks in the province, welcoming over 700,000 visitors annually," so you'll want to book your day-use permit in advance.

While you're in the area, you can explore some of Prince Edward County's beautiful small towns, wineries and markets for a dreamy summer escape.
