Florida may be a little more tropical that its other southern neighbors, but Floridians are no strangers to good ole fashioned southern cooking. Now, a new classic eatery is opening in Orlando, and you’ll want to mark your calendars for this one. Blake Shelton's Ole Red, a massive 500-person restaurant, will open its doors next Friday, June 19!

“Now, my birthday is June 18, but Ole Red Orlando, Florida is opening June 19. That’s way more important,” Shelton announced in a video posted to the restaurant’s Instagram account.

Shelton went on to say that while the music situation of the grand opening will depend on the state’s phased regulations, he guaranteed it would be a party.

The new southern-style restaurant was set to open in April at ICON park, near the Orlando Eye, but got postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, according to ClickOrlando.com.

For its official opening, Ole Red will be implementing CDC and local health department guidelines, including keeping tables six feet apart, limiting groups to six people, and using single-use plates, utensils, and condiments.

You’ll have to keep your dancing boots at home for now, because the dance floor will also be closed for the time being to ensure social distancing.

Totaling in at a whopping 17,289 square feet, the restaurant will feel like a concert hall with live music and lighting. It will fit up 500 people and feature three bars.

On the menu, you'll find wine, beer and specialty cocktails, along with southern favorites like fried chicken, wings, and poutine.

This is the fourth Ole Red opening, with other locations in Alabama and Tennessee.
