Once again, NDP leader Jagmeet Singh has sent a public message to the Prime Minister. This time, he's calling for stronger action following the death of an Indigenous woman in Quebec.

In a message shared on October 3, Singh said that he’d looked into Justin Trudeau’s eyes “more times than I wish,” and told him that his words were not enough.

Referring to the death of Joyce Echaquan, who was abused in a Quebec hospital before she died, Singh said “I've asked, why can’t we act? Why can’t we do something to save lives?”

As part of his message, the NDP leader retweeted a video clip of Echaquan’s teenage son pleading with Canada’s Minister of Indigenous Services and Minister of Crown-Indigenous Relations to act on the death of his mother.

“We can act — we must act — for Joyce, for her family and for Indigenous people across Canada,” Singh wrote.

This isn’t the first time that Singh has come for Trudeau online and accused him of failing to take strong enough action when it comes to tackling systemic racism in Canada.

The NDP leader previously told Trudeau that Canadians were “done” with his “pretty speeches about racism.”

He's also accused the PM of failing to stand up to U.S. President Donald Trump amid anti-racism protests in America.
