A Body Found By An Ottawa High School Has Been Identified As A 21-Year-Old

A preliminary step has been made in an investigation by the Ottawa Police into the death of a man whose body was found on July 27.

The body was found at 5:15 p.m. on a path behind Samuel Genest High School in the city's east end. In an official statement by the police, it was revealed that the identity of the deceased had been determined.

The deceased male has been identified as Mohamed Hassan, 21 years old of Ottawa.

The cause of death has not yet been released by the Ottawa Police. The statement says that the autopsy results are still pending.

Authorities are asking anyone who may have any information regarding the death of Hassan to contact the homicide unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 5493.
