Arizona Game and Fish (AZGF) is adopting out captive desert tortoises now through September 1, as these creatures hibernate in the colder months.

Adoptions are available to Arizona residents only, and 2020 applications are still being accepted. 

AZGF says that they can live "upwards of 80-100 years," so it's a good idea to have a backup plan because they can outlive their owners. 

If you're looking for some companionship, these critters need a little TLC and a place to call home!
