Quaint streets, cozy cafes and riverside views await at this enchanting small town in Ontario. You can enjoy storybook-worthy scenery and more while visiting this spot, which was recently ranked among Canada's "ever-so-charming towns."

Country Living published a list of "42 Ever-So-Charming Canadian Towns You'll Wish You Had Known About Sooner," highlighting some of "the best small towns, villages, and smaller cities" from coast to coast.

This Ontario spot ranked at number seven on the list, and it's brimming with old-world charm.

Almonte is a quaint village perched along the Mississippi River in scenic Lanark County. Due to the many festive films that have been shot there, the town has been dubbed "Mini Hollywood North" and the "Hallmark Capital of Ontario."

The enchanting main street is lined with cute local shops and cozy cafes, making it a dreamy spot to spend a day. According to Country Living, "just about every corner is picture-perfect," ensuring stunning views during your visit.

You can explore attractions like the Mississippi Valley Textile Museum and the Sivarulrasa Gallery or enjoy some fresh air at the Almonte River Walk and Mill of Kintail Conservation Area.

The town hosts events throughout the year, such as Almonte Celtfest and Light Up the Night. Other Ontario towns that made Country Living's list include Elora and Niagara-on-the-Lake.

With historic streets and cute shops, Almonte is the place to be if you're looking for charm.
