If summer had a flavour, it would be Starbucks Canada's Strawberry Funnel Cake Frappuccino.

The new beverage is available from Tuesday, May 11, in locations across Canada.

When ordering, you have the option to customize with non-dairy options like oat or almond, but for this taste test, I tried the original version.

I was delighted to discover that this one isn't overly sweet, unlike most Frappuccinos I've had in the past.

Sprinkled on top, it comes with tons of tiny funnel cake pieces, which gives a nice crunch texture to the creamy blended beverage.

The drink also has a mountain of white cream and strawberry puree, giving it a strawberry shortcake vibe.

When it comes to the berry syrup, they don't hold back, but it isn't overpowering. Instead, it perfectly complements the subtle flavour similar to a donut or fried dough.

If I were to imagine what a funnel cake would taste blended up into a frosty treat, this would be it. Without question, this is my favourite Frappuccino I've had yet and is what you will want to sip on a hot sunny day.
