The New McDonald’s Meatless Patty Will Be Called The 'McPlant' And We Are Laughing

Everyone has FEELINGS about this.

McDonald's announced last week that they will soon have a plant-based patty on their menu, after successfully testing the product.

The "McPlant" is its name, and it will be available at some point next year.

McDonald's was not clear on what brand will be supplying the new patty, but Beyond Meat claims that they co-created it with McDonald's after testing it in Canada.

The "McPlant?" Really?

The "McPlant" sounds less like a burger and more like a McDonald's science lab (where, probably, the "McPlant" was created, actually, and they just were too lazy to change the name).

The "McPlant" sounds like the name of an undercover government agent sent to ask the hard-hitting questions at a press conference given by Mayor McCheese.

Some remembered fondly the McPlants of years gone by.

Some people were stoked about the news, generally, comparing the good news to that of a COVID vaccine or weed legalization.

Others just got existentially excited about the news and compared it to ascending into space.
