A 3-Year-Old Child Was Killed After Being Hit By A Car In Etobicoke On Tuesday
There was a terrible tragedy in Toronto on Tuesday morning. Police say an Etobicoke car crash killed a three-year-old child on the morning of August 11. A second child is thought to be in critical condition, and an adult man was also struck by the vehicle.

UPDATE: Police announced on Tuesday night that the surviving child, a seven-year-old girl who is the sister of the boy who was killed, suffered only relatively minor injuries. The kids' father, a 36-year-old man, was also struck but also survived with minor injuries.
EARLIER: Police tweeted at 11:23 a.m. on Tuesday that a man and two children had been hit by a car in the area of East Mall and Burnhamthorpe Road.
The Toronto Star says police have confirmed that the man is the father of the two children, a three-year-old boy and a seven-year-old girl.
Police confirmed the trio were crossing a street when they were hit by a vehicle just after 11 a.m.

Sgt. Brett Moore said at the scene, via the Star, that the vehicle was making a turn onto the East Mall as the family was crossing the street.
The boy was found unresponsive without vital signs at the scene and has since passed away.
His sister was initially reported by officers as being in a life-threatening condition and was taken to SickKids.
Per CTV, authorities say the second child has a "very significant injury."
Police initially said an adult male, the father of the children, was also hit. His condition is not currently confirmed.
The driver of the car is an 82-year-old woman, according to CP24. Her husband says she told him the kids were running across the street at the time of the collision.
Toronto Police Const. David Hopkinson told CBC that while officers don't yet have detailed information on how the incident happened, the driver did stay at the scene.
Nearby roads have been closed as a result of the tragedy and will stay shut until the afternoon.
Police ask anyone who might have witnessed the crash to contact them.
Sadly, this is just the latest example of young children being killed in collisions with cars in the GTA this summer.
Back in June, in one of the area's highest-profile incidents, a mother and her three young children were killed by a dangerous driver in Brampton.
