According to the Toronto Police Operations tweet, other kids at St. John Vianney's yelled at the man after he picked up the girl.

"At this time, it's fair to say that the reasons why the man put the girl down is an element of the investigation and forming part of investigator [inquiries]," police told Narcity in an email.

Police say they are looking for a 6-feet tall white man with a heavy build who was wearing an all-black outfit, including a black ski mask, black gloves, and a black backpack.

Anyone with a dashcam or security camera video of the area is being asked to get in touch with officers at 416-808-1100 or leave an anonymous tip online.
