If you've purchased a lottery ticket in the past year that could still be sitting in your pocket, you're going to want to double-check those numbers.

According to OLG, there are tons of lottery tickets in Ontario that are going unchecked — including one from Saturday night's 649 draw that was sold in Brantford, reports CTV.

$8,700,000 Prize of unclaimed ticket in Brantford

While this ticket may be the biggest unclaimed prize, there are a few smaller fortunes that haven't been spoken for.

In Burlington, a $1 million ticket is set to expire come February 25, according to OLG's list of unclaimed prizes.

Another million dollars is up for grabs in Cambridge until April.

There is only one prize set to expire in January and that is $10,000 from a ticket bought in Ottawa.

In a statement to Narcity, OLG explained that residents of Ontario have one year to claim their lottery prize before they are rendered invalid.

'[People] forget to check their tickets right away or put them in a coat pocket and forget about them," OLG explained.

They say that forgetting tickets in coat pockets happens when the seasons change, as people tend to switch outerwear. So, you better go investigate just in case.
