Gym-goers are going to have to get used to working out in a face covering.

MOVATI Athletic, an Ontario gym chain, has just announced that starting this weekend, a new mandatory mask protocol will be in effect at its locations.

According to its website, this rule will be in effect at all times, with some exceptions.

Members will only be able to remove their masks if they are showering, swimming, or using the whirlpool spa.

If desired, guests can also take off their face coverings while on cardio equipment, like a treadmill, or when in group fitness classes.

On top of this, members will also be asked to sanitize their hands, wipe down all equipment that is being used, and keep their distance from other people.

"We have instituted a variety of new processes, procedures and requirements to provide a safe and healthy club environment for members and staff," reads their website.

The move comes after Doug Ford announced that gyms in the Ottawa, York and Peel regions will be able to open their doors this Saturday.
