Some Ontario Businesses Are Now Denying Entry To Toronto & Peel Residents

Toronto, Peel, and Ottawa are Ontario's hotspots for COVID-19 infections. Now, some establishments are denying entry to residents of those regions.

Romby's Tavern & Smokehouse in St. Catharines is one of those businesses.

The tavern shared a statement on Facebook detailing their decision.

Romby's is asking customers for their ID to prove they reside within the Niagara region before they dine. 

An LA Fitness location in Milton has a similar policy.

The gym posted a sign on their door saying that residents of Peel Region are not permitted inside.

This decision comes after crowds were spotted flocking to gyms that remain open amid the closures.

The three hotspots are currently in their second week of a modified stage 2, which will last for a minimum of 28 days.

Premier Ford is expected to make an announcement today about the fate of York Region and warns that other areas could see similar closures if cases worsen.
