Police are warning you to double-check your Ontario Halloween candy this year after a shocking discovery was made in Kenora.

According to an OPP news release, a complaint was received on November 1, 2020, at around 4:00 p.m. regarding a tampered piece of candy.

The call was made after a Twizzlers package was discovered opened, and a small razor blade was found inside a piece of licorice.

"The OPP are strongly encouraging parents and guardians to thoroughly inspect their children's Halloween candy. Check for any candy that has been unwrapped, ripped, or opened," read the release.

It is unclear at the moment if any other cases of tampering have been found.

The house that handed out the candy is believed to be located on the south side of Kenora.

Anyone who has any further information is being asked to contact the Kenora OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

This isn't the first time that candy has been tampered with in the province.

A similar incident occurred last year in London, Ontario, when a razor was found in a small chocolate bar.
