Toronto Reveals The Risks Of A Rowdy Long Weekend & Says You Need To Follow The Rules
You shouldn't be gathering with your friends.

With Ontario's long weekend quickly approaching, Toronto Public Health is warning residents about the risks that will come with gatherings.
In a tweet, the City outlined that there has been a pattern of increased COVID-19 cases following every long weekend so far including Easter, Family Day and the Christmas break. In order to break the pattern, residents are being asked to only gather with people that they live with.
Our city has seen a pattern of increase in #COVID19 transmission related to long weekends. Let's break that pattern. This #VictoriaDay weekend, let's celebrate safely by gathering only with those we live with & work towards a summer we can all enjoy.pic.twitter.com/ZLRkbsBYr5— Toronto Public Health (@Toronto Public Health) 1621263764
"Let's celebrate safely by gathering only with those we live with & work towards a summer we can all enjoy," read the tweet.
Ontario's Solicitor General Sylvia Jones has echoed the same words to the province. "We have seen when there is a holiday, when there is a long weekend, unfortunately, two weeks later we do see a rise in the number of COVID cases," she said, according to CTV News.
"Grand Bend will be there in July and August when we have a majority of citizens vaccinated," she said. "We are protecting each other."
