An Ontario MPP Is Suing The Government Over Outdoor Gathering Restrictions

An Ontario MPP has filed a lawsuit against Ford's government this week in an attempt to remove outdoor gathering restrictions.

Roman Baber, MPP of York Centre, revealed on Thursday that the effort was being launched to defend residents' "right to protest" and gather outside.

In the announcement, Baber claims the risk of contracting COVID-19 outdoors is "exceedingly low" and that the regulations deny Ontarians their "fundamental freedoms."

"I sued the Attorney General of Ontario for our right to protest, pray & gather outdoors," the MPP states. 

The MPP has been highly critical of lockdown in the past, even going as far as to argue that it was "deadlier" than COVID-19 itself.
