The scams, which occurs via phone call, notify their victims that they've been "exposed" to COVID-19.

The fraudster then reportedly asks for personal information so they can process your results for a fee.

Police also state that scammers are posing as contractors who show up at your door to "spray for COVID."

Scams are a growing concern for Ontarians in the digital age.

Last year, scammers were trying to sell fake COVID-19 test kits in Toronto.

Police are reminding residents to be cautious and always verify who they are dealing with when accepting phone calls.
