Canada Day is almost upon us, and Toronto is gearing up for a full day of celebrations.

This year, the holiday falls on Tuesday, July 1, giving locals a great excuse to soak up the summer weather and join in on the festivities.

The city will be a hive of excitement with outdoor events, live performances, and fireworks displays lighting up the night sky.

But while there's plenty to enjoy, keep in mind that Canada Day is a federal statutory holiday in Ontario — which means many major stores and services will be closed.

That said, not everything will be off-limits. Select grocery stores will remain open for those last-minute essentials.

To help you make the most of the holiday without any hiccups, we've compiled a list of what's open and closed on Canada Day in Toronto.

From mall hours to city services and things to do around town, here's your go-to guide for planning ahead and avoiding any unexpected surprises.
