Following his Super Bowl half-time show, The Weeknd got a shoutout from the University of Toronto and it came with the cutest throwback picture of him.

The image posted to Twitter highlights the global superstar's humble beginnings from a talent show in his hometown of Scarborough back in 2008, to his performance at the Super Bowl in 2021.

The University of Toronto Scarborough took to social media to showcase their pride for the talented Scarborough native and did so in meme form.

The photo is posted in two parts, the first shows a younger The Weeknd, simply known as Abel Makkonen Tesfaye then, on a stage during a Scarborough Campus Students' Union talent show in '08.

The second image shows the artist now globally known as The Weeknd at the Super Bowl.

"How it started, how it's going," the tweet was captioned.

The post garnered almost 50,000 likes.

"Starboy" has quite the ties to this campus after he not only donated $50,000 to an "Ethiopic Studies program," but also made an appearance on campus in 2017 to reportedly shoot his music video for "Secrets."
