Environment Canada Warns That Strong Winds & Thunderstorms Are About To Hit Toronto

Bust out your umbrellas, folks! Toronto's weather forecast is predicting a messy start to the weekend.

According to Environment Canada, heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected to sweep over the 6ix Thursday evening.

"Rainfall amounts will generally be in the 20 to 40 mm range, with locally up to 50 mm possible in thunderstorms in some locales," the weather agency stated.

The downpour is expected to come to an end by Friday around noon. 

However, don't go planning your picnic just yet, because strong winds of up to 80 kilometres per hour will persist in many areas.
